Oak Point Energy has secured rights to almost 11,000 gross acres (17 sections) of Tier 1 oil sands land in the Athabasca region of Northeast Alberta. Our lands include the Lewis Steepbank, Lewis Southwest, Chelsea River, Great Divide and Duncan.
Oak Point’s Lewis Steepbank project is situated amidst senior oil company developments. Located in the heart of the high quality Northern Athabasca “Sweet Spot”, it is a strong resource offering infrastructure and road access and both bitumen and natural gas pipeline access. The Lewis Steepbank lease abuts both Suncor’s Firebag project and Imperial Oil’s Aspen project. Expected peak production from this resource is 50,000 bbl/day.
Oak Point’s unique, proprietary SAGD facility design (1nSite) will be deployed throughout our operations, with the first installation at Lewis Steepbank expected to be in operation by 2014.
